Lava Beach
Lava Beach, a pristine natural setting
Just a few meters from the village, a 200-meter-long walking path connects your lodging to Lava Beach. Facing the Mediterranean, far from the city and surrounded by maquis, it’s one of the most unspoiled beaches in the Ajaccio region.
Spread out your towel, take a dip, or let time slow down as you gaze at the horizon. Here, there’s no need to overdo it: the sea, the maquis, and the Corsican landscape are all you need.
Water Sports and Diving
Both wild and lively, the beach offers a wide range of activities for thrill-seekers: jet skiing, tubing, boat rentals, and speedboat rides.
The diving club invites you to explore the Gulf’s underwater flora and fauna, with eight remarkable sites on the list, including shipwrecks and unique species.
Boat Tours and Excursions
The beach is the starting point for must-see boat tours: the Scandola Nature Reserve (a UNESCO World Heritage Site), the Piana Calanques, Girolata, and along spectacular rocky coastlines. The tour office can advise you and organize, for an additional fee, excursions departing from the village:
- Piana & Scandola: a cruise through the reserve, the Piana calanques, Girolata (a fishing village accessible only by sea), followed by a stop in Cargèse and its two churches facing each other.
- Bonifacio: a town perched on limestone cliffs, a short cruise to the sea caves, and a stop at the Lion of Roccapina.
- Maquis & Traditions (Zivaco): a visit to a local beekeeper, lunch at a traditional inn, Lake Tolla, and the Prunelli Gorges.
- Ajaccio: Napoleon’s birthplace, the old town and markets, followed by a sunset cruise to the Sanguinaires Islands.
